What Daily Faith Really Looks Like (And Why Holding On Might Be Holding You Back)

What Daily Faith Really Looks Like (And Why Holding On Might Be Holding You Back)

Let’s talk about faith.
Not the Instagram-quote, coffee-mug kind.
I’m talking real, daily faith.

The kind you actually have to live out when things get messy.

See, running a business as a believer? That’s not just a job. It’s a faith walk.

And lately, God’s been calling me out—big time—on how much I say I trust Him... and how much I really do.

Let me break it down.

The Business I Built on Fear

When I first started my business, I wasn’t walking in faith. I was walking in familiarity.

I kept doing the same things—even when they weren’t working—because I was scared of what might happen if I tried something new.

I had toxic team members who were draining the culture… but I kept ‘em.

Why? Because I didn’t believe I could find better ones.

I had clients that were out of alignment with my values… but I held onto them.

Why? Because I didn’t believe God could bring the right ones unless I saw them first.

That’s not faith. That’s fear dressed up as “being responsible.”

The Cost of Holding On

Let me tell you what that cost me:

  • Energy

  • Peace

  • Progress

  • Growth

And the wildest part?
God was trying to upgrade me the whole time.

But I couldn’t receive what He had because my hands were full holding on to what I was afraid to lose.

It was like trying to carry groceries, my gym bag, AND a toddler… and still expecting to catch a blessing.

Nah. Doesn’t work like that.

What Faith Looks Like Now

These days, faith looks different for me.

It’s not just quoting Scripture or starting the day with prayer (although I do that too).

It’s trusting God with real business decisions.

  • Letting go of “good” offers to make room for great ones.

  • Firing fast when alignment’s off.

  • Saying yes to crazy opportunities that don’t “make sense” yet.

It’s waking up every day saying:
“Lord, show me who You want me to serve today. Show me where You want me to go. Show me what I need to release.”

And then actually doing it.

You Can’t Cling and Climb

If you’re building your business and you feel stuck… let me ask you this:

Are you holding onto something God already told you to release?

It might be a client.
A business model.
A comfort zone.
A belief about money.
Or maybe even your identity.

You can’t climb to the next level if you’re clinging to the last one.

God’s got more for you. But faith isn’t just about believing He can
It’s about moving like He already did.

So What Now?

Maybe today’s the day you take inventory.

Are you building with fear or faith?

Are you trusting your resume, your routines, your resources… or are you trusting the One who gave you the calling in the first place?

You already know the answer.

So here’s what I want you to do next:

👇 Drop a comment or DM me:
What’s ONE thing you need to let go of to walk in real faith this week?

Let’s hold each other accountable. Because trust me—you don’t need to figure it all out to take the next step.

Much love,
Greg Todd
